Update on Fall Planting/365 Meal Planning Activity

Since Carolyn is out of town, we will be postponing our fall planting/meal planning activity. Please be thinking of days that work best for you if you'd like to participate, because we'd like to accomodate for as many as are interested. :)

Upcoming Fast Sunday

Hi, Sisters! It's that time again, where we have the opportunity to fast for special needs, and share our souls with each other through our testimonies. It has been suggested that we be fasting for missionary experiences/inspiration on whom we could talk to or invite to our upcoming Invitation Sunday.

Marisa Schwegler will be teaching our relief society lesson.

Just in Case

For those who haven't seen the recipe for the homemade laundry soap, here it is:

4 cups hot tap water
1 Fels-Naptha soap bar (or 1/2 Fels-Naptha, 1/2 Ivory)
1 cup Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
1/2 cup Borax

Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan with water. Stir continuously over medium-low heat until soap dissolves and is melted. Fill a 5 gallon bucket full of hot tap water. Add melted soap, washing soda, and Borax. Stir well until all powder is dissolved. Fill bucket to the top with more hot water. Stir, cover, and let sit overnight to thicken. In the morning, stir and fill a clean, used laundry soap dispenser half full with soap mixture. Fill the rest with water. Shake before each use (will gel).

Yield: 10 gallons
Top-Load Machine: 5/8 cup per load
Front-Load Machine: 1/4 cup per load

Also, if you are wondering where you might find all this stuff, I found a great site:

Coupon Kick-Start

Hi, Everyone! Jackie Kitchen is so on the ball, and called her local gas station to see if they would let her pick up the leftover Sunday newspapers to get the coupons. She has a huge stack and she's willing to share! You can contact her and pick them up from her at her home, or you can get some on Sunday. Thanks, Jackie!

RSM (Formerly Enrichment)

We had a wonderful RSM this evening focusing on conserving, reserving, and being prepared. Donna Johnson highlighted this idea with some wonderful thoughts from general authorities through history. Rhonda Pace then shared some awesome eco- (and wallet-) friendly cleaning ideas. We have some great handouts (which will be available at church on Sunday for your personal use, or to be taken to the sisters whom you visit teach ). Carolyn Ashley's granddaughter, Daylynne, was so kind to travel to speak to us about couponing. It was a lot of information, but I'm really excited to starting keeping my money!! If you know of any frugality websites, books, or other resources, please pass them along by commenting here, or emailing the presidency.

Welcome!

Welcome to our new fresh blog! We are so pleased to have you! We are hoping this will be a more accesible site, and provide us with many resources and ways to accomplish all we women have to do.
